Ironing irony

Last night was the NCAA championship- naturally Mr. Marshall hurried to finish all his homework so we could relax and watch the game.
It is so nice watching sports together- usually it is what a group of friends but this night it was just the two of us- which means- plenty of smooching, pajamas-basketball analysis messes that get cleaned up again and Laundry folding! 5 loads of laundry we folded last night! it was amazing! finally CLEAN clothes!
so as i am hanging up clothes we come to the conclusion that first of all- great wife i am.. I have never ironed Mr. Marshalls clothes! He is SO patient with me! so the firsts began!
I got out our cute flowery mini ironing board and started out.
naturally during one of the most semi exciting parts of the game ( it was a very unexciting game) as my leg moved forward the iron toppling over on to my calf as i was sitting on the floor. OUCH!
so....
Yes.
For any that wonder that is an imprint of an iron on my leg..
i was just trying to be a good wife!

Star light star bright, my first pink star i ate last night!

Yesterday Marsh and i started working on a list i have been contemplating for a very long time. you see marsh always threatens that we might not ever live in Utah again. and as mind blowing as that is to me, after pouting for a few days i decided that well.. then we might as well see all that Utah/BYU has to offer us. we bought new little pocket journals and started a list strange as it seems number 1 on the list was - To try a Pink Star Jamba. Ive never had one, all growing up everyone loved it and i committed to.. not loving it- or never actually trying. So Marsh all gungho on our list said "lets go get you one right now!" ( he is so sweet!).

- insert preface- I have always really struggled with going to jamba with marsh because well.. he is allergic to most fruits and dislikes the rest so i can NEVER split a jamba with him. well come to find out..he took the first sip of the pink star.. and wouldn't give it back!
He Loved it!
and I loved it!
Last night we shared our very first jamba.. it was a great moment in our marriage

March Madddddness

I don't really know the words to describe the madness of this march. Tonight Marsh and I pulled up my grades that explained it all, with finals just 3 weeks away however it was not a good site... Tests taken in Jan/Feb average was 90% tests taken anytime during the month of march? the high score was 68! need i say more i blame it on the butcher paper in our living room.

leave it to Marsh to start a neighborhood pool of brackets, he is so cute how he just stares at the wall and then ceremonially writes the winner up after each game.
who would have ever thought basketball would be so big to me, it used to be my Least favorite sport.. guess thats the power of love :)

So I Married a Super Hero

warning this post may be a little too mushy for some poeple

This is him!

This is the Man who for some strange reason chose me

Do you remember the 2nd grade when you were asked who is your hero and why?

I married my Hero, His Name is Marshall and this is why

Yes thats him in the middle.. my very own bruce wayne!
ordinary halloween party? i think not-because Marshall is extra-ordinary - this is actually a charity party where people were invited to attend a formal night at the wayne manor to raise money to build schools in 3rd world counties. Marsh was the Host- Bruce Wayne- he acted the part well, so well in fact with all the girls hanging on his arms as he welcomed us in i really wondered who he was actually dating!

He love kids. Not the way everyone says they love kids. He REALLY loves them

Maybe i never told you but when he grows up marshall wants to be a doctor for special needs kids. He works at a school called Clear Horizons with children on the Autism spectrum. The thing is some people do that kind of stuff because it looks good on med school applications but not Marsh i don't even think it ever occurred to him that he could do that. I have never seen him care about someone so much, His friend Noah in the picture, i think they understand each other better than Marsh's parents or his wife. He is a hero to kids and the school and to all 31 nieces and nephews.

My Super hero does things like Change flat tires for anyone in need

He does the Dishes even with they are piled high up to the ceiling

My Hero Inspires people around him in ways no other person can.

He gives the most sound advice in a loving way

My Super Hero does all he can to make sure others succeed

he is steadfast and consistent, never wavering never giving up.

No one is as smart as he is

No one is as patient as he is

No one is as fun as he is

No one is a noble as he is

And No One has ever been luckier than I am

Thank You for being my Hero

Thank you for being my best friend

What its like in our house

Why do i love blogs today? well because i can brag about how wonderful my valentines day was and how sweet my husband is and not feel bad because... well you really don't have to read it.

Love for us this valentines day was spending time with some of the cutest kids in the world and  hoping that someday our kids are as cute as her!!

We sat on the couch and stared into each others eyes for hours...... or a few minutes......

My darling friend melanie and I decided to do the 12 days of valentines day for our husbands! We left little notes, puzzles, poems and treats through out the week...

And then...
THIS was our valentines date meal! we were so proud of it we just stared at it for while! we stared so long our food got cold...  Marsh brought me a dozen PERFECT red roses ( im kind of particular about my flowers.. ) he also made me a CD of all  my favorite love songs! he even sacrificed and listened to country music to find some of them :) he had candles and everything and set it all up. It looked WAY more amazing than this picture can show. For dinner you might be able to see what did we get but... IN AND OUT! it looked awesome, and tasted awesome. what a fun night!
Add that with my thomas the train book from a cute 4 year old and I'll say i had the BEST. VALENTINES DAY. EVER!
hope you did too.

In the name of L-O-V-E

Its the best four letter word you'll ever use.
you know the word, you use it too much
you don't use it enough
hold on to it like a precious gem
you toss it out to your BFFs, you know the ones that have been there for everything
you feel it for your parents on graduation day
you keep this word at the tip of your tounge
but you never let it slip until the time is JUST..... Right...
you dream about it
you pray for it
you fall into it
your 13 yr old sister is always talking about it
you even think you know what it really means when your standing out side the temple looking up at your very best friend smiling for another picture with all your favorite people around...
Its a word that grows you see
its always always growing
and 6 months later.. exactly.. today..
you realize that if THIS is love,  you don't know what you were feeling then.
It what you hope you have in 40, 50 years down the road.
its love!
Its the word that makes the world go round!
The reason we are here
The reason your parents had you,
and doctors become doctors
the Reason our Savior suffered for our sins
The reason we can live forever
the reason we make promises forever.
And so for this precious day we spend hours writing more than 50 Valentines to all the nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters
we bake treats and listen to love songs
we cut out hearts just to have around
and we KISS... and its wonderful!
And so my loves,

'Please bless Chinaland'

Yes i just took a picture of our dinner! Happy Chinese New Year! Thank you panda express for giving everyone free dinner today! I also came home and made up a nice batch of pot stickers! Note to self: they STICK TO THE POT! I really hope that our wedding pan survives.. it might be a close call.
This blog is dedicated to Chinaland.. and all the wonderful things i don't know about it yet.

wonderful thing number 1:
I said yet at the end of that sentence because we plan on going.. next semester, next summer, next decade but it will be a next. We desperately want to teach english there through an organization called CHINA HORIZENS http://www.chinahorizons.org/ It was started by a guy at BYU, its a great price for 4 months of amazing experiences in the wonderful chinaland! this is where 'please bless chinaland' comes makes its debut. Last night, Marsh and i were making our list of things to pray about before we went to bed, it came up that we probably ought to pray about whether or not we should really go to china. It was marshall's turn to pray and for some reason  the way he prayed for it made us both start laughing so hard we couldn't stop. we lauged and laughed and laughed some more until our abs hurts and tears were rolling down our faces, but we couldn't say anything because we were in the middle of a prayer! after probably 5 full minutes of uncontrollable yet reverent laughter we finished with a sincere prayer and have made it through the day without being struck down yet. Im feeling really good to about going to Chinaland now.. that definitely wasn't a stupor of thought

Wonderful thing # 2: they speak a really cool language there! and our favorite brother and sister that live in st. george lived there for two years! ( i say favorite kinda like how Nana says.. "you are my favorite kindergarten girl" because there is only one) But we love Dan and Andrea and China seemed to have make them happy and they sure had some adorable kids there!

Wonderful thing #3 The Great Wall of China!

Wonderful thing #4 Chinese food makes you skinnier and smile more

Wonderful thing #5 Last but not least, Chinese New year gives you a whole new start on your new years resolution! Marsh and i decided that since we have already broken almost all of our New Years Resolutions, this is a great way to get a second try at being perfect! Second time's a charm...

Thank you for Chinaland.
