First things first

How many people believe the saying that when you put the first things first everything important will  fall into place and everything unimportant will fall out of place, but what if you want to keep the unimportant things around. Well Im testing it out this week, and I will let you know how it goes.

Friday Night

I guess this is good practice for the next for years of my life, but i am sitting here waiting for my sweet husband to finish his Bio Chem test. don't worry yes is is almost 9:00pm! what can i say we are party animals! its a good thing we have a killer saturday lined up! sleeping in ( for the first time all semester- im being serious!) running, visiting teaching, finally getting to H&M for some SHOPPING! then off to the Courage to Hope banquet and last but not least we'll top it all with box seats with the president for the BYU game ( president of BYU just so you know not, obama). I love spending time with the family at football games, I feel sad already to think that this will be our last BYU football game we'll go to for a few years.. it was such a good streak. We feel really luck, that we got another chance to sit in the box - we missed our shot last year with service council and Casey gave us another chance, i'm excited for some good time with friends and LaLa who i never see anymore!

Oh i almost forgot, i know i am crazy but it is getting close to decision time, Marshall has to let all the schools know and we have to put money down by Dec. 1 so naturally i have been checking out places to live, i think it is important that where we live in med school is a good relaxing place for Marsh, and also somewhere i will like enough to want to stay home and cook and clean and raise babies in. This is a big deal. here is what i found so far.. this one is in Kirksville, which i will just say, is where we are leaning towards the most right now... shhh
I think it has character.. its 2 bedrooms for $475 ( kirskville is so inexpensive!) but is $900 square feet too small? marshall was just excited it has a dishwasher :)

I think it has character! wouldn't a porch swing be so fun! don't  mind the Giant branch and for sale sign! i love it!

                                                                       Kitchen
There is is, the potential future Hill residence!

Birthday Wishes

I started this post quite a while ago and figured I should probably post it! Better late than never!
It was Husbands birthday in October. Everyday i realize how very lucky i am! it is so nice waking up 14 months after your wedding and still feeling like you scored the greatest person that has ever lived!
This year, for my perfect husband i tried to throw him, the perfect party.
marshall has a lot of amazing friends. and he loves to golf, so what did we do?
Have all his friends over for a golfing extravaganza!

He started off the morning going out golfing with his brothers, a golf trip he has been longing to have for such a long time!
Then he came home to a party- well actually he took an hour nap upstairs while i finished setting up :)
We started out at the Hill Country club golf course AkA the back yard pasture! there were 6 holes and we divided up into teams. Thanks Julie and Fern for helping me set up all the holes!
we had a dinner with all golf themed food like Chip shots, Peanut Putter sandwhiches "Par" faits, and more!
Prizes- the gold cup was awarded and then we just hung out! it was a fantastic night!
I love having a husband to celebrate.

Highlights/lowlights of the night
* i lit Ms candles on the cake that in turn lit his paper golf hole flag on fire and got a little charcoal all over the cake.
* Chel and Zack where playing around with a Champaign glass and shattered it all over the table
* best out fit was for sure Jenessa and Brodys baby Alydia came dressed as a bag of golf clubs! you can sort of see it in the picture it is the cutest baby costume i have ever seen! Props to Jenessa for making the whole thing!
* just being with all our favorite people and celebrating the sweetest boy on his birthday!

well that is Marshalls birthday party-  thanks to everyone who made it possible! the next day we had all the nieces and nephews over and did it all again! i wish i had more pictures!
After his birthday we ended up with a crazy week of school, but halfway through the week we got a fun little suprise,
My teacher canceled my test that had been keeping me from going to marshalls last med school interview with him! so what did Mr. Marshall do? hopped right on the internet and bought me a very price inflated plane ticket to go with him the next morning!
It was the greatest adventure of a weekend in..... get this........Kirksville Missouri! Never heard of it? neither had we!

Ill tell you the whole story very soon.

The very best things!

It is the very best thing to have love.
for your perfect Husband
for your family
for the Gospel
for life!
I am so grateful to have the husband that I do. Nights like last night, where we stay up till all hours of the night even though we have to wake up so early , and we just laugh and laugh until our stomachs ached. And the greatest thing was we were laughing at nothing. it was nothing clever or witty or ridiculous just pure joyful laughter.
It was a great way to end a great weekend, of BYU football, Regional conference ( an amazing talk by Elder Bednar! no teleprompter or anything) Studying, Captain America with friends and a Spooky halloween dinner. Mom and Dad are so nice to us and bought Mr. Marshall a new wallet because he gave his to tom and has been using a little zip lock baggy to carry around all his credit cards for the last two weeks!

For anyone that wondered, it is quite the adventure driving to Provo every morning and coming home late at night, but we love it. We LOVE our new friends in Sandy and we still get to time to play with friends in Provo. But the best part about the commute- is the actual commute! in the Mornings i do my makeup, while marshall drives and then read aloud our scripture study ( which is great because it keeps me awake) Then we write down our favorite part from our reading that day and use it as our theme scripture for the day. Then we put it on a 3x5 card and add to is our 5 most important priorities to get done that day. and finally we write how we are going to show love to each other through out the day.
It is becoming a really helpful fun and happy tradition!
Goals are so good for us, we function so much better! we have even added a walking goal that we keep track of on our Pedometers. it is actually more of a competition.. i walked more on saturday but marshall walked more yesterday.. who will win today...

we are excited for a fun FHE with Jess and Josh carving pumpkins!

quick trip!

We loved spending the weekend in Yellowstone with the family at the Hill Cabin! Thanks Fern and Allen for letting us go! And thank you mom and dad for taking us on a much needed vacation! We just relaxed and played around all day! Relaxing time with the family is the best for sure!  we loved it. It was so fun to be at the cabin together! This summer it got a whole new make over and looks amazing!  and just being outside up there and smelling the trees was so wonderful! The weather was even nice! anyone that hasn't ever been to yellowstone.. it is a must! Here are some of the fun pics we took! ( dad tried to teach me and joy a little bit more about photography this trip.. it was quite exciting!)

Look at the excitement!

Let the medical wife life begin!

Mr. Marshall left today for Arizona!
This trip was origionally booked for january but with a spot opened up we just couldn't resist!
because it was kind of a spur of the moment flight- that equals very expensive! 300 more dollars because he had to book it last minute! who does that. a flight to arizona for $521!
Tomorrow is his very first interview. I am so jealous he gets to be in the warmth and hanging out with our awesome cousins Jamie and Conrad! It would be so fun if we went to Midwestern to get to hang out with them and their cute little family!
Today i still went to school, but i noticed that during my free time, i didn't know what to do! there was no husband to eat with or take a nap with or talk about nothing with..
i think i might actually go study!

Looking forward to a fun trip to the cabin with family this weekend with Mr. Marshall gets home!

catch up thoughts

Wow! its been so very long. I promise i will be better at this, Ive got to be better at something, wouldn't you rather read and write a blog than a journal, maybe thats not true but today it is, typing just seems so much easier.
A lot of things have happened lately to make one think, so let me just tell you how i feel.

My little brother, has always been one of my hero. I knew Marshall was a keeper when i saw how much my little brother Tom idolized him. The last year has been a great whirlwind of hanging out with the three of us together, and it has been one of the greatest blessings in my family and our marriage.

This is a perfect example of what our relationship has been like,

Thats tom, just sneaking his way between all the neices and nephews to hug us both at the same time. We make a great team!
This summer Tom and max would come and wake marshall and i up every morning at 6:15 to read scriptures and study preach my gospel together, i think marshall and i would have died without them to wake us up, but even when i was tired, i will always love and cherish those mornings watching Marsh talk to everyone about serving a mission and all of us learning and growing together.

I love these boys!
Tom left to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter- day saints 2 weeks ago, he is on his 3rd week in the MTC and i already miss him like crazy. you see tom and i have always been pretty close. He always has a way of making you laugh your head off, he makes you want to be smarter, he comforts you yet never lets you be less than who you should be, he is a really good brother.
my favorite memories are of running track together, he always supports me, he always cheers me on and praises me! and i would do the same for him, we would stay after everyone else had gone home from practice and work together on being better. That is what family is about to me. I love that i was blessed with such great family members!

So even though i really miss him, i am so proud of who Tom has grown up to be, of the strength that he has had through all the hard things in his life, i know that he will be the greatest missionary for the lord and that he will help change so many lives, like he has changed mine! Good luck Elder Christensen.

368 days of bliss

Sorry for the delay, but it has been just over a year since the greatest day of my life.
We are back from Catalina! after spending our last wonderful night on the island ( which also happened to be the big one year mark!) it is great to be back, and really sad at the same time, we are missing all our friends. but for now i want to highlight another great time in our lives. lets time warp to
August 14, 2010

i woke up in my quaint cottage hotel room next to little sister Joy aroung 6:00 am and started to curl that thick hair on my head, dad brought us all Mcdonalds for breakfast ( marshall on the other hand wasn't eating breakfast, he got a muffin in the temple while he waited for me to come out, first purchase as a married man... Chocolate muffin of course! i love him!)
Before i knew it my prince charming was there to take me to the temple, where we would get to start eternity

Needless to say it was my dream wedding, I had everything i could have ever hoped for.

 * We got married in the Manti, Utah temple- where my parents and grandparents were married and the place i have dreamed of my whole life, it is the first requirement on the husband list.
*We were sealed by Elder Evans, Marshalls hero and family friend from Japan days
* Our Entire family and closest friends fit into the small sealing room all in white, like we were in heaven
* It didn't Rain!
* I got to Marry the most amazing Man in the entire world.

He quite literally the most amazing man in the entire world. he is so real, and true and courageous and i feel so lucky that one year ago he chose me forever! It has been such a wonderful year together with so many adventures and such much laughter, so much learning and so much love. I just don't know where i would be without him, He quite literally is my best friend.

so here is to Marrying you r best friend!

1 year down
eternity to go!

Ill be back later with more Wedding details, if you want to hear about them, if not.. too bad!
