We had two really great parties last week! One was in honor of our sweet friend Ashley having a baby boy! and the other was Max boys birthday party!
Ashley is pretty much the sweetest girl on the planet and she loves to read, so Chelsey and I tried to mix little boy things with vintage books for her shower. all the decor were old books and things made out of book pages. it was such a fun shower to put together for someone we love so much!the mini books said- " children are made readers on the laps of their parents"
chelsey made the most delicious Maglebeys cake
Veggie cups and ABC cookies
Thanks everyone for all the fun and help! Now I just can't wait to meet the new little man!
One year earlier.. I gave birth to max! and I just cant believe how time flies! I decided to throw a Rookie of the Year birthday party for him, since.. we had the BEST first year ever! and becuase we live in Missouri.. home of the cardinals, the weather was hot but our backyard got shady quickly, thank goodness!
Max and his dad at his party- max took the song seriously when it says its my party and i'll cry if i want to. but for the most part he was a total doll! Thank you girls for all of your help, all the hours and decorations, I am kind of addicted to stuff like this and I haven't actually mastered throwing parties but this might have been one of my favorites ever thanks to awesome friends, and that my baby is just that darn cute!
Popcorn anyone?
Ironically the things people didn't eat were the peanuts and cracker jacks! It was a baseball game guys!
These guys are so cute and so good to max! we were seriously so grateful to everyone that came, spoiled max and just loves him everyday! He loves you all more than you even know! and so do we!
One of my favorite parts of the night was the game that we played at the party Chelsey Had this baseball poster from her days teaching school and we used it for a little competition! Everyone put their family name on a paper baseball and went up to bat, to move from one base to another you had to do things like, make max laugh out loud, take max for a tricycle ride or sing him happy birthday, have him give every member of your family a high five and finally to make it home you had to get him to clap! Then first one home got a cool prize and everyone else to make it home got a baby ruth- get it babe ruth! It made the night great because everyone focused on max and he loved all the attention, until it was bed time and then not so much! the winners was Joseph doman- he is 12 and Marshall teaches his class at church- people were going all out to get him to clap and he was the only one!
our darling friend Chauntelle in our balloon filled tent!
Max loved all of his presents and our friends were too good to him! what ever happened to just getting presents from the dollar store for babies? it was like christmas for max!
I almost forgot- check out those cake pops!
thanks again everyone for making it an amazing night! Also a shout out to our wonderful sister in law Tiffany for driving all the way down from Des Moines to come play with us and Max for the weekend! we love your family so much and are so glad we live close.. well three hours close!
